El Salvador

El Salvador's Major Industries, Exports, and Government

Picture
El Salvador is the smallest country in Central America, but it happens to have the 3rd largest economy in Central America. El Salvador has quite a few major industries. They are food processing, beverages, petroleum, chemicals, fertilizer, textiles, furniture, and light metals. The main exports are processed food, sugar, coffee, shrimp, and ethanol. Their agriculture includes coffee, sugar, corn, rice, beans, oilseed, cotton, beef, and dairy products, but these don't happen to be as large of exports like sugar and ethanol.

The government in El Salvador, which is a democratic republic, is very similar to the U.S.'s government in many ways. One example is that they have the same 3 branches of government; executive, legislative, and judicial. They also have elections where anyone over the age of 18 can vote, just like the U.S.. The government is lead by President Mauricio FUNES Cartagena. Basically, everything in the government standpoint is just like the U.S>, besides the people who hold the positions in government.
